Very Returns Policy: How to Return an Item and Get a Refund

Very offers free returns on most eligible items under its 28 Day Approval Guarantee. This guide explains how to start and track a return, when to expect the refund, and what to do if an item is faulty, the return goes missing, or Very refuses to refund.

    Very returns policy: quick answer

Very's 28 Day Approval Guarantee covers free returns for most goods returned within 28 days of receipt. Items normally need to be complete, unused, in their original packaging, and have any security tags intact. Some goods are excluded or have product-specific conditions, so check the product page and Very's current policy before sending anything.

How to return an item to Very

    1. 1

Sign in to My Account and open My Orders.

    2. 2

Choose Return items, or Return items from multiple orders, to enter the digital returns portal.

    3. 3

Select each item, give the return reason, and confirm whether it is eligible for a digital return.

    4. 4

Choose an available drop-off or home-collection option, then select a printable label or no-printer option where offered.

    5. 5

Keep the return confirmation and carrier receipt, then follow tracking through Very's emails or returns portal until the refund arrives.

    Very return options

Options shown in the digital portal can include Yodel Store or Post Office drop-off, Royal Mail or Yodel home collection, and XDP collection for heavier parcels. Large or bulky items may need customer care or a supplier-arranged collection. Available services depend on the item's size, weight, supplier, and location.

Use the option offered for that order rather than sending the parcel to an address found elsewhere. Check the current Very returns instructions before posting.

How long does a Very refund take?

Very says to allow up to 14 days for a credit or refund to arrive after sending the return. Once Very receives the parcel, debit-card, credit-card, and Very Account refunds are usually processed within five working days.

Do not discard proof of return when tracking says delivered. Keep it until the refund appears on the original payment method or Very Account.

If a Very return or refund goes wrong

Return tracking stopped: send Very the receipt, label, return confirmation, and latest tracking scan. If Very supplied the label or collection, ask it to trace the return service.

Refund has not arrived: confirm when Very received the parcel and ask for the refund reference. Separate carrier transit time from Very's processing time.

Item is faulty: choose Faulty as the return reason and describe the problem. Statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain separate from Very's 28-day approval policy.

Item cannot use digital returns: follow the supplier or customer-care instructions shown against the order, especially for large, bulky, personalised, hygiene-sensitive, or direct-supplier goods.

    Who delivers your Very order?

Very typically uses: Yodel by InPost, InPost, Royal Mail, Parcelforce, Evri, Arrow XL, XDP. The exact courier varies by region, order size, and delivery option.

Whichever courier handled your parcel, your contract is with Very, not the courier. Section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 puts the obligation on Very to deliver into your physical possession.

How to challenge a missing Very return or refused refund

    1. 1

Save the return receipt, tracking history, return confirmation, order details, and any photos showing the item's condition.

    2. 2

If tracking has stalled or Very has not credited the return within its stated timeframe, contact Very through your account and provide the return reference.

    3. 3

State whether Very supplied the label or booked the collection. If it did, ask Very to trace its return service rather than sending you to the courier.

    4. 4

For a faulty item, describe the fault and say which Consumer Rights Act remedy you want. The 28 Day Approval Guarantee does not replace statutory rights.

    5. 5

If Very refuses or stops responding, request a final written response and consider chargeback or Section 75 where the payment and purchase qualify.

    Very returns and delivery FAQs

Is Very legally responsible for a missing parcel?

Yes. Under Section 29 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the retailer (Very) is responsible for the goods until you take physical possession. Very cannot redirect you to the courier because your contract is with Very, not the courier.

How long does Very have to refund me?

Under Consumer Contracts Regulations, refunds are due within 14 days of cancellation. For damaged goods, a short-term right to reject and full refund applies within 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Very Buy Now Pay Later — does it affect refund rights?

No. BNPL is a payment method; statutory rights under CRA 2015 are unchanged. Note that Section 75 may not apply to BNPL — chargeback rules differ.

What if Very deducts the cost of a missing parcel from my account?

Push back. Section 29 CRA 2015 says Very is liable for delivery into your possession. Request a full refund of the deduction.

Can Very pause my account during a refund dispute?

Possibly per their terms, but it shouldn't block resolution. Escalate via the Financial Ombudsman if Very obstructs your statutory claim.

    Are Very returns free?

Very says returns are free under its 28 Day Approval Guarantee for eligible goods. The item normally needs to be complete, unused, in its original packaging, and returned with any security tags intact. Check the product page because exclusions and extra conditions can apply.

How long does a Very refund take after a return?

Very says to allow up to 14 days for the credit or refund to arrive after sending the item. Once Very receives the return, debit-card, credit-card, and Very Account refunds are usually processed within five working days. Keep tracking and proof of return until the credit appears.

What should I do if Very loses my return?

Save the return receipt, tracking history, label, and return confirmation. If Very supplied the label or booked the collection, send that proof to Very and ask it to trace the parcel and process the refund. If you bought the postage yourself, you may also need to claim from the courier you contracted with.

Can I return a faulty item to Very after 28 days?

The 28 Day Approval Guarantee is separate from statutory rights. Faulty goods can still be covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 after the approval period, although the available remedy may change from rejection and refund to repair or replacement.
