Delivered but not received letter template

    Quick answer

Use this template when tracking says delivered but you did not receive the parcel. The letter should ask for proof of proper delivery and explain any problems with the photo, signature, safe place or location.

    When to use this template

Use it where tracking says delivered, signed, handed to resident, left in a safe place or photographed, but the parcel did not come into your possession.

If the parcel is simply delayed or lost in transit, the lost parcel template is a better fit.

Subject: Order marked delivered but not received

    Hello,

I am writing about order [ORDER NUMBER]. The tracking says the parcel was delivered on [DATE], but I have not received it.

I have checked [SAFE PLACE / NEIGHBOURS / BUILDING RECEPTION] and the parcel has not come into my possession. Please provide the evidence you rely on to show proper delivery, including any delivery photo, signature, GPS note or safe-place record.

I am asking for a refund or replacement. Please respond within 7 working days.

    Kind regards,
    [YOUR NAME]

    Evidence to include

    1. 1Tracking screenshot showing delivered status.
    2. 2Delivery photo or signature, if available.
    3. 3A short note confirming neighbour, safe-place and building checks.
    4. 4Photos showing why the claimed delivery place was exposed, wrong or unclear.
    5. 5Any retailer or courier messages about the delivery.

    Why generic wording fails

Delivered scans create a different dispute from a parcel that is simply lost in transit. The useful question is not just whether tracking says delivered, but whether the evidence shows proper delivery to you or someone you nominated.

    Frequently asked questions

Is a delivery photo enough to reject my claim?

Not always. A photo may help the retailer, but it can be weak if it shows the wrong door, an unsafe location, a communal area, or a place you did not nominate.

Should I report it to the police?

If you believe the parcel was stolen, a crime reference can help, but it does not automatically replace the retailer complaint. Keep the retailer route active.

Can I use this for Amazon?

Yes, but Amazon has its own support and A-to-Z routes. An Amazon-specific page or letter can include those platform steps.
